What is JUPEB (Meaning Of JUPEB) & How It Operates?
Though, majority of the centers running JUPEB program may not tell you all that is involved rather than how you can get to 200level with it. I will simply do that and tell you all you needed to know, before you apply for the next JUPEB.
For those who want to know the meaning of JUPEB, JUPEB simply means Joint University Preliminary Examination Board.
JUPEB is a National Examination body saddled with the responsibility of conducting examinations for students, who have undergone approved subject combinations and are seeking Direct Entry admissions into Nigerian universities.
JUPEB is an A’Level program you run to qualify for admission into a university 200level without JAMB. The process of running a JUPEB program is as simple as, apply for JUPEB, get admitted, run the program for one session, seat for exam and pass. Them, apply for direct entry into any university of your choice the following year.
Each JUPEB candidate must register, sit for Examinations and satisfy the Board in three subjects and a General Studies course relevant to the proposed course in any of the universities.
Students are required to choose three subjects in addition to English. Each subject is to be broken into four courses to be taken, two per semester, by the candidate.
The results in all the courses are to be merged at the end of the second semester to obtain the candidate’s grade in that particular subject.
The certificate obtained by graduates of the JUPEB programme will be tenable in several universities in Nigeria and in some foreign universities.
Price of JUPEB Form
It may interest you to know how much a JUPEB form application form is sold. The sincere answer on this is that, it VARIES from centers to centers.
The common price for JUPEB application form is between N10,000 – N17,000. In case you want to apply to UNIBEN, UNILAG and some other public universities offering JUPEB, the form may not be more than N15,000.
Though, you may find disparity in the price from time to time.
Requirements For JUPEB Program
Do you want to apply for JUPEB program and have been wondering what the admission requirement is like? You don’t need to be worried about this. The requirement is as simple as having O’level result.
It is my pleasure to inform you that, the Basic Qualification for Enrollment for joint university preliminary board is a minimum of five (5) Credit Passes at the Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE) /General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level in subjects relevant to the desired university programme or your course of study.
Once you have five O’level credit in relevant courses, you are good to go.

As earlier said, JUPEB programme is an Advance Level Programme intended for candidates aspiring to again admission into any Nigerian University through Direct Entry (DE). The programme last for nine (9) months divided into two semesters. During this period, students are exposed to intensive lectures from Mondays to Friday every week and a weekly C.A. test on Fridays.All our centres highly equipped laboratories avail the students the opportunity of undertaking all the practical required for the programme.
